the morning of March 22 has been presented in Baluard, at a press conference, the PIACC, International Prize for Contemporary Art and Collectibles. This award comes from the initiative of four private collectors in the Balearic Islands, Juan Bonet, José María Lafuente, Mario Alejandro Villalba Legorburu and with the involvement of the Foundation is Baluard Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma and Palma Foundation Espai d'Art.

PIACC The aim of the award, which will annually, is to give impetus to collecting and contemporary art and recognize the work of a painter who has links with the Balearic Islands, or of which highlight the emerging value of his work in the sense that open new paths in contemporary art. According to the rules of the award, for the artist must be under 45 years old and born, displayed or worked in the Balearics.

The award will have a budget of 20,000 euros. Each of the four collectors will provide $ 4,000, the same amount allocated is Baluard, as the winning entry will join the museum's permanent collection through a grant from the Foundation Espai d'Art Palma. With respect to Palma Espai d'Art Foundation, this undertakes to publish a monograph on the winner / a and make a presentation at the Casal Solleric during the year following the award.

They form the jury, which will have a maximum of seven members, a representative of the Foundation Espai d'Art Palma, a representative of the Foundation and recognized Baluard / as contemporary art collectors Islands Baleares.
