Pakistan for the first time in Argentina


On Wednesday, opens March 23 at the Centro Cultural Borges Pakistan's first art exhibition in Argentina. This true cultural event is presented by the Pakistan embassy in Buenos Aires to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between both countries.

The exhibition, entitled Pakistan: A Symphony of Colors "is composed of works that shows ancient artistic traditions: Box miniature paintings and print or engraving. The enormous interest in this collection lies not only in its high artistic value, but also the possibility that the public gives peek Argentine cultural thought, language, beliefs and lifestyles of a civilization of 9,000 years old.

Miniature Paintings are basically small intricate and colorful lighting, hand crafted and executed with delicate brushwork. Traditionally, the colors used were obtained from minerals, vegetables, precious stones, indigo, shells, gold and silver. In antiquity, painted on rocks, pottery and palm leaves, which were later replaced by paper, ceramics and ivory. For millennia, this technique was influenced by Chinese, Arab, Persian, Christian and European, but that did not stop to evolve into its own distinctive individuality. Miniature art also evolved from religious themes to pay homage to royalty and the representation of the daily life of common man.
